P4G - Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030

P4G aims to accelerate the sustainable transition by bringing together business, public sector and civil society in partnerships leading to smart solutions. P4G provides facilitation, funding support and valuable recognition to bring innovative partnerships to life and to scale. By bringing the parties closer together, we can break through existing barriers for green growth and transform challenges into opportunities for a new, sustainable economy.

P4G contributes to the Sustainable Development Goal 17 and particularly focuses on partnerships within SDG’s related to the sectors food and agriculture, energy, water, cities and circular economy. These areas are the driving forces of the global economy and can catalyze the sustainable transition in the whole of society.

P4G founders and partner organisations

P4G was officially launched in September 2017 by the governments of Denmark, Chile, Colombia, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Korea, Mexico, and Vietnam. Besides the partner countries, non-profit organisations such as the Global Green Growth Institute, World Resources Institute, World Economic Forum and C40 Cities, are also P4G partners. P4G is increasing the partner circle with new countries and organizations. Furthermore, P4G is in close dialogue with Indonesia, China, Bangladesh, the Netherlands and South Africa on possible membership.

Internationally, P4G is based in a Secretariat in Washington, and nationally, in platforms in the various partner countries. The national platforms will secure the involvement of relevant businesses, authorities, and civil society organizations. The Danish P4G national platform will be based in State of Green, which will secure a wide Danish involvement from the private sector, research community, organizations, municipalities, think tanks, civil society and state authorities.

A board has also been established and consists of representatives from P4G partner countries, CEOs from the private sector and leading global institutions that will contribute to the strategic development of P4G. Minister of Development Cooperation, Ulla Tørnæs is co-chair of the P4G Board.
